Some really exciting news: We’re having a block party next Saturday, August 26th, at our headquarters, the Refinery 46 building, at 2201 E. 46th Street! We’ll be serving our delicious Cuban food alongside other businesses, including The Sinking Ship, Cosmic Gardens and Mrs. Murray’s Naturals. Both Black Circle Brewing Co. and Circadian Coffee will be serving their rejuvenating brews.
In addition, Black Circle will be hosting multiple musical guests, including:
Lisa Frank & the Trapper Keepers
Even more, we’ll be having our grand opening of the dining space next to us! This means an indoor dining space for ALL AGES to enjoy our delicious Cuban food! We’ll be starting things off kid-friendly with the talented children’s performer, Mr. Daniels, performing in our newly renovated dining area.
The block party is an all ages event (with the exception of the last band). Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door. Each ticket purchase includes two food or drink tokens that may be used at any of our vendors’ booths.
Tickets can be purchased online or in person. Tickets are available at Black Circle Brewing Co. (Wednesday-Sunday 11-close) or Circadian Coffee (Monday-Friday 10-2).
Doors open at 10am and the first band goes on at 11am.
Hopefully you’ve been keeping on top of your calendar because this Sunday, May 14, is Mother’s Day! And what better way to celebrate the day than brunch with the family? Come to Elena Ruz and enjoy some of our medianoche french toast, guava syrup-drizzled pancakes, arroz con huevos, and more! It’s okay if you forgot, because we don’t require reservations and you won’t have to wait to be seated! We have indoor seating for those 21 and older, and outdoor seating available to everyone. Oh, and there will be special discounts for mothers! Basically, if you love your mother at all you’ll bring her to Elena Ruz and Black Circle Brewing co.!
Elena Ruz now has two beautiful picnic tables outside the restaurant, and there are more to come! This is a really big deal for us, as we’ll now be able to host and serve families with members under the age of 21. What better time to take the family out to lunch or dinner (or Sunday brunch!) than the weekend, right?
Don’t worry about drinks, either — in addition to some of the best craft beer around, Black Circle Brewing Co. also has your minors covered with a selection of delicious craft soda! And if you hate the idea of leaving your dog/cat/iguana at home, bring ’em along! Everyoneis welcome on our patio.
That’s right, Black Circle Brewing Co. is once again hosting a live concert; the only difference this time is that it’s on a Thursday and will be FREE! No cover, no strings attached. And we’ll be serving our signature food and drinks the whole night.
And thanks again to all those that came out to make our first brunch ever a total success! It was kind of insane and really blew the roof off our expectations. We couldn’t have been happier.
Finally, another reminder that we’re now open on Wednesdays, 11am-10pm. Turnout last Wednesday was also a big surprise, as we got a lot more customers than we had planned for. Thanks to all that came!
Keep the happy surprises coming our way, Indianapolis!
Your week just got soooo much better, because we and our partners at Black Circle are now opening our doors on Wednesdays for the lunch and dinner crowd! (That’ll be from 11am – 10pm.) The weekend doesn’t seem so far away now, does it?
This Saturday, April 1, Black Circle will be hosting another fantastic concert, and we promise they’re not foolin’ around. Delta Queen will be opening for The Crew, and both are expected to be, you know, amazing. Why would Black Circle book anyone who wasn’t going to blow the roof off the house? As always, the show is 21+, from 8pm-11pm, with a $5 cover after 7pm. Of course, we’ll be serving ourfull menu during the show, so come start your night off right with live tunes, cold beer and hot food!
Last but far from least, Elena Ruz and Black Circle will now be serving brunch on Sundays from 11am – 2pm, starting April 2. What’s so special about brunch, you ask? How about specially crafted, Cuban-style brunch dishes and champagne cocktails!
We’ve got french toast drizzled with guava syrup and fried rice topped with two over-easy eggs and sweet fried plantains, both of which are total brunch knockouts (and great for hangovers)! Seriously, they’re so good it’s almost criminal that we’re serving them only once a week.
This St. Patrick’s Day (that’s this Friday, March 17) Elena Ruz will be donating cash tips to Keep Indy Beautiful’s ‘Leaf Winter Behind’ Campaign, to promote a cleaner, more vibrant, more beautiful city! To celebrate the occasion, we’ll be dishing out two specials: the “Reubano,” (that’s corned beef, sauerkraut, swiss cheese, and thousand island dressing, all stacked between two slices of buttered and toasted Cuban bread), and corned beef hash empanadas! You don’t wanna miss these!
Black Circle Brewing Co.will be doing the same, donating 10% of their daily proceeds. To learn more about how you can Keep Indy Beautiful (along with a list of businesses participating in the LWB campaign), go to their website by clicking on this link!
That’s right, on Saturday March 11 the brewery is going to be hosting the world’s premier heavy metal tribute band, Iron Diamond! It’s a $5 cover after 7, the show starts at 9 and will last until 11. So far a little over 200 people have shown interest (which is beyond the brewery’s capacity), so if you’re ready to rock you might want to show up a little early.
Of course, while all this is going on, Elena Ruz will be serving up hot cubanos, flaky empanadas, and more of your favorite Cuban-inspired dishes! Never drink on an empty stomach! Our food is guaranteed to help you last through the night, and oh, what a night it will be. And remember, our Fritas are only available Fridays and Saturdays after 5.
We’re very happy to say that, since our grand opening, we’ve not only had a steady stream of customers but some really stellar reviews, too! Thanks to all those that spread the love!
Our special the “Frita,” a Cuban-style burger (pork-and-beef patty, cheese, a fried egg, thinly sliced fries, topped with a specially made sauce, all on a sesame seed bun!), will now be available only on Fridays and Saturdays. It’s delicious so come by and try one!
This weekend our special will be chorizo-and-potato empanadas! We have only a limited amount, so make sure you get them while supplies last!
Speaking of limited supplies, our partners at Black Circle Brewing Co. will be featuring two house brews — the S&W Cold Brew Coffee Porter, and their NEurotic Pale — along with their usual guest taps. You can find that list of brews here.
Last but not least, both Elena Ruz and the brewery will be closed for a private party after 8pm on 2/25 (that’s this Saturday).
Looking forward to seeing guests both old and new this weekend!
This week/weekend will mark the official Elena Ruz & Black Circle Brewery Grand Opening! Our specials include a sampler dish (1 chicken, 1 beef, and 1 black bean empanada; 2 chicken & 2 ham croquettes; mariquitas (plantain chips); and black beans & bread, all for only $14.99) and a Cuban-style hamburger known as the “Frita!”
Black Circle Brewery will feature two of their own brewed creations, a sour Gose-style beer and a porter; an extensive guest draft list; domestics; and wine. And don’t forget to come out Saturday for live music featuring Blackfoot Gypsies w/the Will Woodrow Project! Cover is $5 after 7pm; the first band begins around 8/8:30; 21+ only!
